「𫢁（＞京）」+「尤」。甲骨文字・金文の「𫢁」は「亯」（廟）と「京」（高楼）を重ねた会意文字で、「高い」を意味する漢語｛就｝を表す字。のち「尤」が加えられたが、その理由は不明。
